Faulty Transmission Cable, 2009 GM Vehicles Recalled

276,000 vehicles including 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt, HHR, Malibu, Pontiac G5, Pontiac G6, and Saturn Aura recalled by the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration (NHTSA) and GM.

The NHTSA says that the involved vehicles are because of a faulty transmission cable. The cable prevents Park from being properly engaged even if the shift lever and gauge cluster is fixed to it’s level. The car owner are mentioned to take their vehicles to any GM dealership nationwide for free car replacement of the cable. No insurance claim required.
