UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd says there are no complaints on power steering in Toyota Corolla models in Malaysia so far.
This is due to the different body and size, thus different components used as compared with models in the U.S., it said in a statement Friday.
“We would like to reaffirm and emphasise to our customers in Malaysia that all Toyota Corolla models sold by us are not affected by this issue,” it said in response to reports that the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration was investigating power steering complaints on Toyota Corolla models in America.
On the recall of Toyota Tacoma pick-ups in the U.S. due to defective drive shafts, UMW Toyota Motor clarified that the model was not sold in Malaysia and was completely different from the Hilux pick-up sold by the company.
“The drive shaft used in our pick-up model is different from the one used in Toyota Tacoma,” it said.

Currently, the existing model Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 GT fully imported (CBU) from Japan, is priced at RM120, 598.10 without insurance in this country. Model is distributed by Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia Ltd. MMC is a technical partner and shareholder of Proton when founded in 1983 until the national car manufacturer Proton releases their first car in 1985. Just as the BMW 3-Series coupe and convertible were updated for the 2011 model year, it’s high-performance M3 variant, which has been caught in testing in prototype form.
The only noticeable difference between the current model, and this latest prototype is slightly revised taillights, which are new LED elements. Most of the visual changes are expected to take place indoors and will include improved fitness, a new center armrest and a new generation iDrive system with four selector buttons for common functions such as stereo. The iDrive system should also include a new 8.8-inch LCD screen and an optional 80 GB hard drive music and navigation system.
Power levels will remain unchanged, meaning the high speed 4.0-liter V-8 from the current model will carry over with a peak output of 420 horsepower. One possibility is the addition of fuel-saving engine stop-start system, but BMW has not yet made any announcement of such a move for M cars. Expect the face lifted 2011 BMW M3, both Coupe and Cabriolet variants, to debut at next month’s 2010 Geneva Motor Show.
